SALVINI DECREE ON THE BRINK OF ABOLISHMENT

One of the greatest news coming to us is that the President Mattarella has refused to sign the decree just yet. Dal Colle will never admit the existence of a real tug of war with the Viminale, but Salvini does not make it secret. Mattarella's doubts were focused on the norms contained in the text, where some constitutional principles could be violated. Salvini has imposed the deadline on Monday, but for now the Head of State seems unwilling to sign the text, finding no reasons for urgency typical of a decree.

Among the points that create perplexities is the restriction of humanitarian permits, the first step to obtain political asylum. Then there is the revocation of Italian citizenship to foreigners for increasingly numerous crimes. In addition, the suspension of the citizenship process in some cases set by the provision. The line of the decree is openly anti-immigrant, Mattarella's concern is respect for constitutional principles. The arm wrestling has just begun.
So let's stay tuned and we will provide you with all updates on the final outcome.
